Right near the back of the wearer, accessed from the top, there is a padded laptop sleeve. The main compartment is a semi roll-top style, and it is closed with a magnetic closure system that is solid and helps to keep the bag closed as well as keep moisture out of it. There are parallel zippers that run along the front corners of the bag and give full access to the main compartment and its internal storage. The internal storage includes: an open-top pocket along the back and two smaller zippered pockets, one mesh the other not, for additional interior organization.
On the outside of the bag, there is a large hydration pocket for large water bottles. There are also three smaller “quick access pockets” for items like phones, wallets, and passports. They are quite slim, so not much else would be able to fit into any of them. On the bottom of the pack, there is a zippered pocket that is made for shoes but would double as a dirty laundry pocket or large layers pocket, and it comes equipped with some venting holes to keep any odors away from the rest of your cargo. In terms of number of pockets and zippers, the bag is fairly low, but that simplicity is the Dayfarer Backpacks’s strength—everything still has a place even though the bag is made for a number of pursuits. You will only need to pack one bag for the day with this pack.
